why you should [take control] of your personal brand - today

have you been thinking about developing your personal brand but just haven't gotten to it yet...? isn't it time?

whether you like it or not - your personal brand already exists.

its evident in your online presence, the things you do, the way you present yourself, your interests, your values and your prospective altitude. its the things you do and the way you do them. the people who work with you, meet you, socialise with you and consider you a friend, family or acquaintance have already made assertions about the person you are based on what they see.

do you want someone else to decide who you are? or would you prefer to decide how you want your story told? if you set goals, if you plan your day, if you update your CV or if you take pride in your personal presentation - why would you NOT have a personal brand strategy in place.

in a digital world and now more than ever it is essential that you have control over the narrative of your life. the web is an open book and record of everything you are and do. it can also be a record of things that do not represent who you are. so personal branding liberates the proactive management of online content and gives the power to you to control how you are seen.

the reality is that you may already be missing opportunities in your life to take the next step, meet the right partner or find your true tribe because your haven't taken the time to consider who you are and what you value. personal branding doesn't need to be a marathon of content, it can be as simple as deciding how you want to present yourself and how you will express your values. by presenting even a basic (authentic) image of yourself - you are in the game.
